How durable are waterproof floors?
Let's put this in perspective: Waterproof flooring is a more advanced version of luxury vinyl (LVF), engineered to be even thicker and more durable than luxury vinyl. LVF is already five times thicker than the original product, which equals a lot of durability!
SPC and WPC cores
The floors are constructed with stone plastic composite (SPC) or wood plastic composite (WPC) cores. SPC and WPC offer the highest level of waterproof protection.
Both SPC and WPC are durable enough to be used in commercial installations.
Waterproof flooring is as stylish as it is durable
Waterproof floors are offered with nature-inspired images of wood, stone, and tile, taken digitally, so they're clear and vibrant. There's also micro beveling and embossing to add depth and dimension.
You'll see features, such as knots, grains, swirls, growth rings, and veining variations, while colors and patterns pop.
Textures: the finishing touch on any floor
With genuine products, such as wood, textures are done by hand with a knife or steel brush. However, thanks to modern technology, embossing can create the same look on waterproof flooring such as vinyl.
Textures are currently trending, and you can get wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, distressed, reclaimed, or embossed-in-register waterproof flooring looks. The latter is a process where marks are made that exactly match those of the image, resulting in even greater realism.
Like LVF, these floors only need regular daily sweeping and periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Installation is a simple click-and-lock where the pieces mat, then hover over the subfloor without adhesives.
